Hoverkey patent portfolio

Summary of key information for licensors

Hoverkey is a UK-based software company founded in January 2012 by Steve Ives and Dr Arnold Yau to develop novel technology for stronger data security. Our technology provides strong authentication of user access to cloud services using hardware security tokens.

Prior to the invention of Hoverkey, one-time password (OTP)-based systems were commonly used to strengthen security for enterprise cloud services e.g. RSA SecurID. Key benefits that Hoverkey offers over these older technologies include protection against phishing attacks and man-in-the-middle attacks, together with superior ease-of-use.

Our portfolio comprises 15 patents. Our first patent application was filed on 28th November 2012 at the UK patent office. Patents were first granted at the UK, US and European patent offices. More recently patents have been granted at ten more European national patent offices (Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg).
