The company

Hoverkey is a UK-based software company founded in 2012 by Stephen Ives and Dr Arnold Yau to develop novel technology for stronger data security.

The problem

Our technology addresses the problem of vulnerability of enterprise data to internet-based hacking attacks. As more and more enterprise data is stored on cloud services platforms, these accounts can be breached by determined hackers with potentially catastrophic consequences for the owners of the data.

How we solve it

Hoverkey provides two factor authentication using hardware security keys. The Hoverkey system is designed to provide a a practical, easy-to-implement and inexpensive system to defeat phishing and man-in-the-middle attacks.

Hoverkey technology

Hoverkey provides two factor authentication using hardware-based security keys. Typically these are either USB security dongles or contactless NFC security cards.

Our technology has been developed through a rigorous security design process. The end result is a secure and flexible system which can be seamlessly integrated into today's enterprise cloud infrastructure.

Team

Hoverkey's founders bring together extensive experience in application security, cryptography, mobile applications and usability design.

Steve Ives

CEO

Steve was founder of Aspective Ltd prior to its acquisition by Vodafone, and founder of Trigenix Ltd prior to its acquisition by Qualcomm.

Dr Arnold Yau

CTO

Arnold gained a PhD in Information Security at the University of London. He previously worked for Thales, Samsung and Barclays in various crypto security roles. Arnold currently works for Ava Labs.

Securing the enterprise cloud

THREE KEY BENEFITS

Secure

Hoverkey security design received a positive evaluation from NCC Group's Security Testing Audit and Compliance Team.

Inexpensive

Hoverkey can be implementing using inexpensive secure element hardware, similar to that used in payment cards.

Convenient

Hoverkey technology can be incorporated in USB security keys or in contactless NFC tokens, depending on device type and user preference.
